The Importance of Historical Background

"Do not separate text from historical background. If you do, you will have perverted and subverted the Constitution, which can only end in a distorted, bastardized form of illegitimate government."

  1. The words of the Constitution were carefully crafted, and meant certain things when they were written. They weren't meant to be molded by the whim and folly of subsequent generations looking for an escape from reason. They mean what they meant when they were written, no more and no less, and the farther we stray from that original intent, the farther we stray from the maintenance of our liberty.

    Keep up the great quotes!
